My University of Iowa 2020 Writing Center Dissertation Camp Introduction

Hello hello! Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. My name is Arya S Afshari and I am a 6th year graduate student studying Space Plasma Physics. My research consists of understanding the turbulent energy dissipation mechanisms in the Earth’s magnetosheath. The magnetosheath is the (relatively) thin boundary layer between the Earth’s magnetic sphere of influence and that of the Sun. I’m aiming to defend in September 2020 and have a lot of writing to do!

I’m very much looking forward this Dissertation Camp as it provides just the kick in the butt I need to focus, knowing that I have a support group from whom I can ask all the formatting questions I have.
